Rural Students Computer Literacy and Life Skills Training Program

WEEDS identified many Government/Public middle schools with lack of computer lab facility in Kancheepuram District, Tamilnadu state, India. The students studying in these schools belong to undeserved rural communities. Many of the students studying in these government schools are our Self-help group (SHG’s) women’s children. During our field work we have found that these children are with lack of computer knowledge and personality development.

Through the support of Nielsen Foundation – “What’s On Media” we have setup computer lab in two government middle schools in Athanacherry and Karasangal Village. For this project we have appointed a Teacher who will be handling both Computer and Life Skill subject for both schools. Through this project students from 6th to 8th grades will be benefited.
